Changing Lives, One Smile at a Time
I love orthodontics and the ability to improve people’s lives. I enjoy the challenge of managing the most difficult cases to successful, healthy, and beautiful outcomes. I love the smiles and happiness of my patients when they complete care. Seeing their joy and wonderment when they look in the mirror, and see what we’ve accomplished together, continues to thrill me.
It’s easy to stay excited about providing orthodontic care when so many people have told me what a difference treatment has made in their lives. My personal and professional goals are the same: always to evolve and constantly learn, so I can make treatment better and easier for my patients.
I became an orthodontist out of a desire to help people and make a positive, lasting difference in their lives. I enjoy using science and technology, along with personal care and attention, to help people achieve their best smile.
My patients are members of my extended family. Many patients and their families keep in touch with our practice, even decades after they’ve completed care. I enjoy hearing about each person’s achievements and adventures while they’re in treatment as well as years later.
Education and Continuing Education
- Doctor of Dental Surgery – Columbia University
- Master of Public Health – Columbia University
- Certificate in Orthodontics – Eastman Dental Center
- Certificate in TMJ Disorders – Eastman Dental Center
- General dentistry – National Health Service Corps
Before becoming an orthodontist, I was a general dentist. Patients benefit from my knowledge of their overall dental needs, not just their orthodontic concerns.
Each year I complete many hours of orthodontic specialty education, as well as continuing education courses in general dentistry. I strive to stay up to date on the latest techniques and newest technologies so my patients receive the best care. I want each patient to have the best outcome, with the shortest treatment time and most comfortable care. Continuing education ensures I am able to deliver that.
I maintain an active membership in numerous orthodontic and dental organizations. This allows me to learn from the leaders in the field. I have worked with the following organizations over my career:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Northeastern Society of Orthodontists
- American Dental Association
- New York State Dental Association
- Onondaga County Dental Society
- Fifth District Society of the State of New York
- American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association – Cleft Palate Team
- Upstate University Hospital
- Edward H. Angle Society
In the Community
I support many local charities and community organizations. My staff and I have raised money for the Golisano Children’s Hospital, homeless shelters, our local food bank, and other charities that help our soldiers and veterans.
We also raise funds for our local schools, sports teams, and music and arts in the schools. We’ve been a proud supporter of The Syracuse Symphony and Syracuse Stage. Additionally, we support our local churches and temple. Syracuse is a great place to live and work, with remarkable residents. We are proud to be part of the vibrant Syracuse community.
Outside the Office
After growing up in Brooklyn and Queens, I’ve lived in Syracuse since 1989. When I’m not at work, I’m often on the fields or tennis courts for my kids’ games and matches. I’ve coached youth baseball, soccer, basketball, and flag football. I enjoyed going to my daughter’s tennis matches and now my son’s soccer games. I also enjoy attending movies and plays, and spending time at the ocean with my family.
During my personal time, I love to read, bike, and go jogging. My daughter and son now regularly beat me in tennis, but I still enjoy playing with them.
