Changing Lives, One Smile at a Time
I thoroughly and passionately enjoy what I do. I feel incredibly grateful to work with so many unique and special people every day. I have a great sense of joy when an adult or adolescent patient tells me how much I have helped them.
While I help people, I feel I get so much more in return. As I view letters of appreciation and thanks from patients, or hear how I have transformed someone’s personal or work life, it is hard to describe the feelings of satisfaction and happiness that I feel. When I hear a young person say how much they appreciate some of the things we do in the community and say they want to be like me in the future, it is both humbling and gratifying.
I love being an orthodontist!
Education and Continuing Education
- Certificate in orthodontics – Eastman Dental Center
- Certificate in TMJ disorders – Eastman Dental Center
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Columbia University
- Master of Public Health – Columbia University
- General dentistry – National Health Service Corps
I became an orthodontist out of a desire to help people and make a positive, lasting difference in their lives. In my early days as a general dentist, I was happy when I could relieve someone’s pain. It was incredibly satisfying.
Now, as an orthodontist, I am able to combine my scientific interests with my desire to help people be healthy and happy, and achieve their best smile.
My personal and professional goals are the same: always to evolve and constantly learn, so I can make treatment better and easier for my patients. Each year I exceed the New York State requirements for continuing education.
Keeping up to date allows me to bring the latest technology, techniques, and scientific information to my office to make care more comfortable, convenient, and easy for my patients. We always want to be on the forefront of science and technology to provide exceptional care, just as we would do for our own family. We are never complacent and strive to be the very best at what we do.
I maintain an active membership in numerous orthodontic and dental organizations. This allows me to learn from the leaders in the field. I have worked with the following organizations over my career:
- American Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Northeastern Society of Orthodontists
- New York State Dental Association
- Onondaga County Dental Society
- Fifth District Society of the State of New York
- Edward H. Angle Society
In the Community
Our office is constantly involved in supporting local charities, including the American Red Cross, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Samaritan Center, Rescue Mission, United Way, local food banks, and shelters for women. We also raise funds for Camp Good Days, local schools, sports teams, and music and arts in the schools, as well as the Syracuse Symphony and Syracuse Stage. In addition, we support our local churches and temple.
Syracuse is a great place to live and work, with remarkable residents. We are proud to be part of the vibrant Syracuse community.
Outside the Office
After growing up in Brooklyn and Queens, I’ve lived in Syracuse since 1989. When I’m not at work, I enjoy attending movies and plays with my wife, and spending time at the ocean with my family.
During my personal time, I love to read, walk at Green Lakes, and bike or jog along the canal path. My daughter and son now regularly beat me in tennis, but I still enjoy playing with them.
